As part of DDD In Session, the curated event transforms the iconic Boyer Campbell Building into a stage for some of Detroit's most talented performers, creating space for connection, discovery, and community. Whether you're a longtime fan or joining us for the first time, expect a welcoming, high-energy night that celebrates the incredible creative talent our city has to offer.


Community Music Jam: Folk, Bluegrass & Americana

Hosted by Courtney Wrubel of the @detroitmusiccollab and featuring musician @dave.zelenak, we’re spending the evening celebrating the rich traditions of folk and Americana through music, storytelling, and community. Whether you’re a seasoned musician, know a few chords, or simply love singing along, there’s a place for you. Chord charts and lyrics will be provided, so all experience levels are welcome. Bring an acoustic guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, harmonica, hand percussion, another acoustic instrument, or simply your voice. No auditions or pressure. Just great music, meaningful connections, and a room full of people creating something together.

Detroit Creative Showcase

Creativity thrives in community, and Girl Brain Studios is bringing Detroit’s artists, makers, and storytellers together for an experience centered on connection, collaboration, and creative exchange. Guests will network with creatives from across the city while enjoying live performances, chef-prepared food, and an exhibition of artwork available for purchase—all within a supportive space designed to spark new ideas and partnerships. Participants will leave with meaningful connections, potential projects and collaborators, new resources, and fresh creative energy to carry into what they build next.


Sip and Sew

Marshele Parker | September 3, 2026 at 4-6PM

Join Archived 29 for Sew & Sip, a beginner-friendly sewing experience designed to spark creativity and build confidence. Guests are encouraged to bring a glass of wine while learning the fundamentals of sewing and creating their own custom tote bag from start to finish. After sewing, participants will have access to screen-printing materials to personalize their creations with unique designs, graphics, or messages. This hands-on workshop blends fashion, creativity, and community, giving attendees a fun introduction to garment-making while leaving with a one-of-a-kind piece they designed themselves.


The Leader Who Learned to Survive

The way we learned to survive can shape the way we lead long after childhood has ended. Through a guided, activity-based experience, participants will explore how patterns like over-functioning, control, urgency, people-pleasing, and emotional shutdown show up in their leadership while learning practical tools for building internal safety, emotional regulation, and greater self-awareness. The session concludes with each participant creating a personal leadership declaration—identifying what they’re ready to release, what they want to reclaim, and how they choose to lead moving forward.


Amplify detroit

AMPLIFY DETROIT is a highly interactive workshop for entrepreneurs, creators, founders, freelancers, nonprofit leaders, and professionals ready to grow their influence with greater clarity and intention. Through guided reflection, practical teaching, real-world examples, and small-group conversation, participants will explore four pillars—Strategy, Story, Social, and Stats—to strengthen the connection between their purpose, platform, message, and goals. The session concludes with an excerpt from Pivot in Purpose, and each participant will leave with a personal influence audit, actionable next steps, greater clarity around their audience, and meaningful new connections within Detroit’s creative and entrepreneurial community.


the social media playbook for small businesses

Connect with local business owners, entrepreneurs, creators, and community members while learning more about Streamline Social and its mission. The evening will include an interactive Social Media 101 workshop covering content creation, platform strategy, trends, and practical ways to grow a business or personal brand online. Attendees will leave with actionable tips, helpful resources, and new connections within the local professional community.


KIN

Caleb Moss | September 24 at 7-9PM

KIN invites visitors into an immersive living archive exploring Black identity through lineage, ritual, memory, and the everyday moments that carry culture across generations. Moving through large-scale portraits, multi-channel video, layered soundscapes, oral histories, and intimate photographs, participants will encounter stories of family, migration, tradition, and community in a space designed to be experienced rather than simply observed. Before leaving, visitors will be invited to contribute a memory, family ritual, or message to future generations, becoming part of an evolving archive shaped by the community itself.


RESET: A Creatives Community Breathwork Experience in Detroit

We’re bringing the Somaxis™ Breathwork Experience to the Detroit Design District—an immersive gathering designed for creatives, founders, artists, and visionaries seeking a moment to reset, reconnect, and regulate. Through guided breathwork, silent disco headphones, and a trauma-informed, consent-centered approach, you'll step out of constant doing and into a deeper sense of presence, clarity, and wholeness. Join us on September 25 at the iconic Boyer Campbell Building for a restorative evening that blends nervous system healing, meaningful community, and practical tools to carry the experience into everyday life.


Community Care Using GREP

We’re bringing a restorative morning experience to the Detroit Design District—designed for high achievers, creatives, and community members who move and think fast but need space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect. Set to the sounds of R&B from the 1960s and ’70s, the morning will blend coffee, networking, and guided learning in an intimate circle where participants will explore practical tools for emotional regulation, nervous system awareness, and community care. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of yourself, a new tool for navigating your emotions, and a renewed sense of connection to the people around you.


The Midlife Shift: Stories, Science & Strategies for Thriving Through Perimenopause

Join us for an empowering conversation about perimenopause designed to give women the biology lesson, practical tools, and honest answers many never received. Led by Corporate Menopause Educator and Perimenopause Power founder Karissa Pfeffer, the experience will combine evidence-based education, an expert panel discussion, audience Q&A, and networking to explore what’s happening in the body and how women can better advocate for their health and support in the workplace. Participants will leave with greater clarity, trusted resources, and the confidence to navigate perimenopause without suffering silently or in shame.


Deux More Healing

Step into a curated art experience exploring creativity as a pathway to healing, reflection, and self-discovery. Through an exhibition of visual art and poetry, guests will be invited to slow down, connect with the work, and participate in mini painting and sketching workshops designed to offer moments of calm and creative release, while receiving a self-care bag filled with mental health resources and essentials. The experience encourages a more open and accessible approach to emotional well-being—showing that caring for your mental health can be creative, communal, and explored beyond conventional therapy spaces.


The Common Room: Building Detroit's Creative Future Together

Built by Detroit creatives for Detroit creatives, The Common Room is creating an inclusive hub where artists and makers across disciplines can access space, skills, mentorship, collaboration, and community. Through guided small-group conversations, shared ideas, and open dialogue, participants will help shape what this creative home becomes while connecting with photographers, musicians, designers, writers, artists, and other members of Detroit’s creative community. You’ll leave with new relationships, a sense of ownership in what’s being built, and a clear way to get involved as a founding member, facilitator, collaborator, or supporter.
